Reminder: Tomorrow is a Curriculum Implementation Day (not school for students).
Have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday!
I would like to introduce Ms Hailey Branion. She is a teacher candidate (formerly known as student teacher) from UBC who will be working with our class this year. At the moment, she will be coming every Thursday, getting to know our class and our routines. In November she will be here for 2 full weeks and she will start to teach a little bit during that time. Then, she will be back to Thursday visits. After Spring Break, she will be with us for 10 weeks and will be gradually teaching more and more during that time. Please join me in welcoming her to Brooksbank and Division 16! (If I manage to get a photo of her, I will share it here).
Such interesting building!
such creativity
such precision
such patience
such resourcefulness
Today, the kindergarten students built patterns with blocks and then transferred their knowledge to represent their understanding on paper. They did a terrific job and were eager to go back and build a new patter to then draw.
After we wrote and drew in our journals (I didn't manage to take any photos of journal time), we had our first iPad day today. I introduced the apps "Bugs and Buttons" and "Bugs and Numbers" which are both math themed. We just explored today, learning how to navigate and interact with the apps. The kids did really well!
