Dots and Pumpkins

While the Grade ones were in Guided Reading, the Kindergarten kids worked on subitizing (looking at an arrangement of dots and figuring out the number without counting). We found out that this is much easier to do with smaller numbers (1-4). Larger numbers require us to count and use other strategies. So we also had a lot of one-to-one correspondence practice. AND, we matched these dots to their numeral equivalent. So much math and math talk with our partners today.

We have been working on some pumpkin art for the last couple of days. I haven't managed to take photos because we've been busy creating. Today, we put the finishing paint colours on and they are looking stunning! They will be displayed in the classroom really soon!
