Today, the Grade 1s started Guided Reading. They went off with their small groups to different places in the school. Unfortunately I am unable to take photos of them during Guided Reading because I am not with them. But I do have photos of the Kindergarten kids during this time.
We worked on letter matching and letter recognition today. In small groups we worked to match letters and try to name them at the same time. We also worked on printing our names on little white boards.
The printing was excellent (but I blurred it out because I don't want to share kids' names here)
Something exciting happened when we were outside, the recycling truck came by and we got to watch it in action! There were lots of squeals of excitement!
For those of you who are unsure about Comfort Kits, this is what a completed one looks like (information about what to include and the ziplock bag are all part of the package of forms that came home last Friday). Once yours is ready, you can bring it to me and I will add it to our emergency kit. Thank you!
